I think I need to read the book again. The whole book. The movie, Little Women (1994) was good, albeit some irks I have. The characters on screen differed vastly from how I imagined them to be. Only the young Amy, as portrayed by Kirsten Dunst, had a semblance of what I envisioned her to be. Jo (played by Winona Ryder) is prettier and more glamorous in the movie, whereas Beth didn’t seem as demure and came across as a relatively bland character. Meg too, lacked development. But, considering that the movie has time constraints, the overall ambience was captured pretty well. The set and costumes were amazing and the little kittens frolicking around certainly helped. All in all, an afternoon well spent anyhow, and has left me with the resolve to delve into the writings of Louisa May Alcott once again (:
